Who We Are

Urban Connection was founded by Michelle Huo, a career counselor who got her start in the nonprofit sector in 2007, volunteering with her family at the Union Rescue Mission in downtown Los Angeles. Working alongside LA's missions, she made it her life's work to help people in the hardest situations find their way back to work.

Since 2008, that work has grown into a recruiting team that has helped over 15,000 people. Nobody pays us for the help — partners and donors do, so it stays free for the people who need it.
